How To Trade While On Vacation

Every day I get a lot of good questions from my Investing Buddies members.  This past week I got three emails generally around the same topic. How do you trade when you can't watch the market? Whether it's how to trade while on vacation, a planned operation or unforeseen life circumstance it's always good to know your options and have a plan. And that's what today's topic is all about!

The first question was about vacation time so let’s start there.

Maggie,

I have a lot of trades on right now.  Next week my wife and I are going on a cruise.  I called the cruise line and was told the internet was spotty at best.   What is the best way to trade during this time?

The second query came from Susan about taking time off.

She is having a major operation and will be in intensive therapy for a couple of weeks thereafter.  She was worried about her open trades.

The final question was from a military man who was going to be unavailable to trade during regular trading hours for a period of time.

He was about to deploy overseas.  Stuart’s trading skills are really good and he hated to give up the extra income he was making.  Stuart and I got on the phone.  I asked him a lot of questions about where he would be deployed to and what he would be doing. Was there reliable Internet? etc.
